Information contained in these records consists of indexes only and date from
the earliest recorded through and including December 31, 1935. Because births
were not recorded with the County Clerk until 1903, not all birth records will
be found. Typically a birth was recorded in a family bible or journal. Births
prior to 1903 were recorded as a delayed birth certificate and were issued only
when requested by a person who could attest to the facts of the birth.
